CAROLYN LEUTWILER: "SINGLENESS REDEFINED: Living Life to the Fullest" (Encore Presentation)
MP3 Available Here
CAROLYN LEUTWILER, Children's Ministries Administrative Coordinator at Redeemer Presbyterian Church (PCA) in New York City, will address the theme of her new book: "SINGLENESS REDEFINED: Living Life to the Fullest".
Carolyn Leutwiler is a theologically Reformed Christian who was blessed to be raised in St. Louis, MO in a Presbyterian family who were members of the historic Covenant Presbyterian Church (PCA), where Francis Schaeffer preached in the 1940's. Having received the benefits of being nurtured in a biblically sound home obviously prepared her to respond with godly wisdom to the trials and challenges of remaining single in young adulthood longer than she had anticipated. As her web site, http://www.singlenessredefined.com/, explains her life now:
Carolyn Leutwiler is single. BUT, this no longer defines her! In her past, she was overwhelmed by a range of emotions, perspectives, and opinions on singleness. These experiences and the struggles of her single girlfriends caused her to consider how the Lord's Word speaks to single women. This led her on a journey of Scripture study and prayer, and ultimately to the penning of this book.
Carolyn currently resides in Manhattan, where she sings opera and writes. In addition, she is blessed to be on staff at Redeemer Presbyterian Church. Carolyn has led several Bible studies and has taken classes through Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis, MO.
Singleness Redefined considers how women allow human opinion, rather than God's wisdom and love, to direct their lives. Carolyn shares practical ways to embrace His work of lifelong transformation. She emphasizes the importance of integrating Scriptural truths in the context of singleness, which leads to a life of productivity and fullness.
Co-hosting this program is Nancy A. Almodovar, founder of Silent Cry Ministries and author of "A Modern Ninety-Five: Questions Today's Evangelicals Need to Answer".
Both Carolyn Leutwiler and Nancy A. Almodovar are available for women's retreats and conferences. Contact Carolyn at contact@SinglenessRedefined.com and contact Nancy at Nancy@SilentCryMinistries.org.

LATAYNE C. SCOTT: MORMONISM IN THE 21st CENTURY: The Mormon Mirage Takes on New Forms
MP3 Available Here
LATAYNE C. SCOTT, a Mormon convert to Evangelical Christianity, author of 13 published books, Chair of the Department of Biblical Representational Research and Author in Residence at Trinity Southwest University in Albuquerque, NM and the recipient of the Distinguished Christian Service Award by Pepperdine University for "Creative Christian Writing", will address the theme: "MORMONISM IN THE 21st CENTURY: The Mormon Mirage Takes on New Forms".
The rapidly growing popularity and dependence upon the Internet, the highly-televised public scandals of Fundamentalist polygamist Mormons, and other issues facing the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have forced the Mormons to continue rethinking their public image and methods of evangelism. Today, Latayne C. Scott will address the ever-changing face of Mormonism and will also discuss the contents of her soon-to-be-reprinted classic THE MORMON MIRAGE: A Former Member Looks at the Church Today.
Latayne also recently completed writing her first novel, a murder mystery which takes place in Salt Lake City, UT, titled THE LATTER DAY CIPHER . Both books are expected to be in print by April of 2009.

KEN JONES: THE WORD OF FAITH MOVEMENT Examined & Refuted
MP3 Available Here
KEN JONES, pastor of Greater Union Baptist Church in Compton, CA , a Reformed Baptist congregation adhering to the Biblical Summary of Doctrine known as the 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith and regular panel member on Michael Horton's theologically Reformed, nationally syndicated talk radio broadcast "The White Horse Inn," featuring a regular roundtable discussion of Christian theology and apologetics, will address the theme: "THE WORD OF FAITH MOVEMENT Examined & Refuted".
"You don't have a god in you, you are one." "Pray to yourself, because I'm in your self and you're in Myself. We are one Spirit, saith the Lord." "I say this with all respect so that it don't upset you too bad, but I say it anyway. When I read in the Bible where he [Jesus] says, 'I Am,' I just smile and say, 'Yes, I Am, too!'" Who would have the audacity to dare utter such blasphemous remarks? Kenneth Copeland, one of the recognized leaders of what has become known as "The Word of Faith Movement" (the sources of these statements are: "The Force Of Love" tape # 02-0028, "Believer's Voice of Victory", Feb. 1987, p.9, "Believer's Voice of Victory" broadcast on TBN, recorded 7/9/87).
Other very recognizable names of leaders in this cultic movement include Kenneth Hagin, Paul Crouch, John Avanzini, Robert Tilton, Fred Price, and Benny Hinn.
Whereas many, if not the majority, within the Evangelical church would strongly reject these and other peddlers of the "Word of Faith" heresy whose outlandish sermons are more easily recognized as being totally foreign to the biblical Gospel message of Jesus Christ, our guest Ken Jones warns that the infinitely more subtle tactics of a new breed of "Word of Faith" teachers has enabled them to smuggle dangerous heresies, including the "Prosperity Gospel", into mainstream Evangelical churches, schools and homes undetected.
Our discussion today will draw heavily from research that Ken Jones has conducted while preparing for the chapter he was invited to write in the soon to be published book now under the working title: "I Know a Place: Bill Cosby & the Social Consciousness of America's New Black Religious Leadership", a new project in the making with Crossway Books, edited by Anthony B. Bradley, Assistant Professor of Apologetics & Systematic Theology at Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis, MO (see ). This work is a theological response to renowned comedian Bill Cosby's book: "Come on, People: On the Path from Victims to Victors".
Ken has also contributed to such books as "Experiencing the Truth: Bringing the Reformation to the African-American Church".

BOBBY LLOYD: "FROM BONDAGE TO LUST TO FREEDOM IN CHRIST: The Testimony of a Former Pornography & Drug Addict"
BOBBY LLOYD, founder of LICCV: Long Island Citizens for Community Values will address the theme: "FROM BONDAGE TO LUST TO FREEDOM IN CHRIST: The Testimony of a Former Pornography & Drug Addict."
(In Promotion of the LICCV Fundraising Event on February 6th featuring IRON SHARPENS IRON host CHRIS ARNZEN as Master of Ceremonies: see http://www.liccv.com/banquetinfo.html )
INTERNET PORN and PEDOPHILE PREDATORS are a rapidly growing threat to the purity, safety and very lives of our children in this country, even in Christian households. Thank God for Christians like Bobby Lloyd and organizations like Long Island Citizens for Community Values (LICCV).
Bobby Lloyd is an unsung hero who worked side-by-side with New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani in cleaning up the historic Time Square from the porn, prostitution and drug trafficking that so dominated the area that this wickedness became synonymous with the very identity of "Time Square" for many years until not long ago.
A native of Rockville Centre, Long Island, Bobby Lloyd has experienced first-hand what it is like to be in bondage to pornography and drugs. And as Executive Director of Long Island Citizens for Community Values, he helps others not only understand the damage pornography can do but also break its stranglehold on their lives.
While Mr. Lloyd currently works closely with law enforcement officials and politicians, he was once on the other side of the law. His role as one of the primary suppliers of heroin to Long Island and parts of New York city in the 70s and 80s landed him in prison several times and in 1976, he received a life sentence under Gov. Rockefeller’s drug law. It was during his stint in prison that Lloyd rekindled a friendship with current wife and partner Dianne, who shared with him her own experiences of breaking the stronghold of drugs. Lloyd’s behavior in prison earned him lifetime parole but after being released he quickly re-established his drug business, which continued for several more years. Finally, in 1984, he entered Brooklyn Teen Challenge, which helped him put his drug habit behind him and move into a new phase of life.
Lloyd helped pioneer Long Island’s first Teen Challenge program and has since reached thousands of young people with a motivation message about how one man can turn his life around. As a result of his work, Lloyd received a pardon from his lifetime parole.
Since 1994, Mr. Lloyd has served as Executive Director of LICCV, where he helps Long Islanders live better lives, free from the negative influences of pornography and the sexualized messages of the culture. LICCV also specifically helps parents to protect their children from the dangers of Internet porn and pedophile predators.
This broadcast is also intended to promote an upcoming fundraising event during which CHRIS ARNZEN of "Iron Sharpens Iron" will serve as MC, "An Evening of Elegance", on FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 6th, 7pm, at the Huntington Hilton Hotel on Long Island (see http://www.liccv.com/banquetinfo.html ).

JOHN C. RANKIN: "HATE SPEECH & HATE CRIMES: What is the Reality?"
JOHN C. RANKIN, president of the Theological Education Institute (TEI) in Hartford, CT, will address the theme: "HATE SPEECH & HATE CRIMES: What is the Reality?"
On November 8, 2008, our guest Rev. John C. Rankin addressed a panel discussion at Chase Collegiate, a day prep school, in Waterbury, Connecticut. The topic concerned “hate crimes.” There were ten panelists, and Rev. Rankin was the only one representing a biblical view concerning marriage as one man and one woman. Two of the other panelists were Connecticut legislators, one of whom is avowedly homosexual and co-chairman of the Judiciary Committee.
With same-sex marriage having been imposed on Connecticut by the State Supreme Court just weeks earlier, the homosexual-rights movement here is seeking a new point in its agenda – the imposition of extra legal penalties on people guilty of “hate speech” or “hate crimes.”
According to Rev. Rankin: "The problem is this: How can law interpret a person’s frame of mind when slander is spoken, or attitude of heart when a crime is committed? Everybody’s unalienable rights to life, liberty and property should be simply protected, and those who violate those rights should be punished according to the law where all people are treated equally. As Thomas Jefferson said, law applies not actions not opinions." (Read the entire blog entry on this topic at http://revjohnrankin.blogspot.com/)
Today Rev. Rankin will address the agenda behind so-called "Hate Crimes" laws and the subsequent harm that may be a result of passing them.
A West Hartford, CT native, Rev. John C. Rankin grew up in an agnostic Unitarian setting, influenced by secular humanism and Darwinian evolution before his conversion to a biblical faith as a 14-year old in 1967.
Rev. Rankin is a graduate of South Kent School , Denison University (B.A. History), Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary (M.Div.) and Harvard Divinity School (Th.M. Ethics and Public Policy), and he is presently pursuing a Ph.D. in Islamic Studies in a joint program with Hartford Seminary and the University of Exeter . He is an alumnus of the Fellowship of Christians in University and Schools (FOCUS), and InterVarsity Christian Fellowship (IVCF).
He served in pastoral ministry from 1978-1983, headed up a New England wide evangelical pro-life organization in Gloucester and Boston, MA from 1983-1991, founded the TEI in Boston in 1990 before returning to his native Connecticut in 1992, and founded the Mars Hill Society in 2005. Through the Mars Hill Forum series Rev. Rankin has interacted with leading skeptics of his biblical worldview on university campuses and elsewhere. His goal is to provide freedom for the toughest questions of the Gospel to be posed in a hospitable and intellectually rigorous setting. His home church since 1992 is the Covenant Presbyterian Church of Simsbury, CT.
Rev. Rankin is also the author of the three-volume series, "First the Gospel, Then Politics", "The Six Pillars of Honest Politics: The Biblical Nature of a Level Playing Field" and "The Six Pillars of Biblical Power: A Simple Key to Understanding the Whole Bible". He and his wife Nancy were married in 1977 and have three sons and one daughter.

DR. MITCH GLASER: "THE CRISIS IN GAZA"
DR. MITCH GLASER, a Jewish believer in Jesus Christ as God and Messiah and president of Chosen People Ministries will address "THE CRISIS IN GAZA".
In addition to giving his insight on the current violence in the Holy Land, our guest Dr. Mitch Glaser will also give his own fascinating testimony of coming to faith in Jesus Christ, and will explain the origins and invaluable work of Chosen People Ministries.
In 1892, Rabbi Leopold Cohn, a recent immigrant to New York City from Hungary, was walking on the Lower East Side of Manhattan among thousands of other new Jewish immigrants when he heard a Jewish preacher proclaiming the Gospel in the Yiddish language. Rabbi Cohn stopped to speak with this man and eventually gave his heart to the Messiah. After receiving his theological training and leading his wife, Rose, to the Lord, Rabbi Cohn established the Brownsville Mission to the Jews. From these humble beginnings, Chosen People Ministries now serves the Jewish people all over the world.
Dr. Glaser assures us that the core doctrinal position of Chosen People Ministries has not changed in more than a century. According to Mitch, "We believe with all our hearts that the Bible is the inspired Word of God and that Jesus is the promised Messiah of Israel - and that the simple message of His death and resurrection has the power to transform the lives of Jews and Gentiles."
Chosen People Ministries' international headquarters is located at 241 East 51st Street in Manhattan, which is within half a mile of the United Nations and the headquarters of dozens of worldwide Jewish organizations. As Mitch puts it, "This is most fitting because it is our most fervent prayer to God - as it was the Apostle Paul's - that Israel might be saved and fully realize its calling to be a 'light unto the nations.' "
Unlike many involved in Messianic ministries, Mitch, who is theologically a Calvinist, fully recognizes that there are Christians who love the Jewish people from Amillennial and Postmillenial backgrounds who share with Premillennialist Christians a passion for seeing the Jews come to saving faith in Jesus Christ, therefore he, and Chosen People Ministries, have a very nonsectarian spirit when it comes to eschatological differences within the body of Christ. The very existence of Chosen People Ministries is largely due to our Sovereign God using the prayer and evangelism of faithful theologically Reformed Christians in the 19th century to bring new life in Christ to the Jews of New York City.
Co-hosting today's broadcast is Pastor Vincent Sawyer of Faith Baptist Church & Faith Bible Institute in Corona, Queens, NY.

DR. STEVEN TSOUKALAS: "THE NATION OF ISLAM: Understanding the Black Muslims"
DR. STEVEN TSOUKALAS, Assistant Professor of Apologetics and Christian Thought at Wesley Biblical Seminary in Jackson, Mississippi and the author of seven books and articles for popular and academic journals, will address the theme of his book: "THE NATION OF ISLAM: Understanding the Black Muslims".
The Nation of Islam promises African Americans a new identity and purpose. But can it deliver? In this intriguing study Dr. Steven Tsoukalas helps us understand the struggle, history, and theology behind black nationalism so that we may respond with compassion and truth.
Noted African-American historian and scholar Carl F. Ellis, Jr., said that Steven Tsoukalas's book "will prove to be indispensable as we fulfill the Great Commission among our African-American brothers and sisters. . . . Whether you reside in the ‘hood or the ‘burbs, whether you are African American, white, Hispanic, or ‘other,’ whether God has called you to home missions or foreign missions, you cannot afford to let Steve Tsoukalas’ magnificent work sit on the shelf. . . . A must read.”

VINCENT SAWYER: "CAN SALVATION BE LOST?"
VINCENT SAWYER, pastor of Faith Baptist Church and founder of Faith Bible Institute in Corona, Queens, NY will address the theme: "CAN SALVATION BE LOST?"
The above question has divided professing Christians for centuries. This is a question that not only separates the Church of Rome from historic Reformational Protestant theology, but divides those who today profess to be Evangelical Christians.
Even those Evangelicals who are unified in the belief that true Salvation CANNOT be lost are divided. On the one hand you have Evangelicals who believe in the "Carnal Christian" doctrine which teaches that a genuine, born-again believer in Christ can completely abandon his once professed faith and remain as a pagan (possibly for decades) until death and yet will still enter Heaven. On the other hand you have those who embrace "Lordship Salvation" which teaches that ALL TRUE Christians will bear good fruit and will live lives that, although are tainted with sin, will demonstrate the genuine convert has not utterly surrendered to sin and will remain as a disciple of Christ until death. This latter teaching also warns that although salvation cannot be lost, many who profess to be Christians will tragically be cast into hell because their profession was false all along, no matter how authentic it may have once appeared.
Our guest Vincent Sawyer's beliefs reflect the latter view, and he will seek to prove biblically that Salvation CANNOT be lost. He will also demonstrate how most of the cults and false world religions believe salvation (however they define it) CAN be lost. Those who are genuine Christians whose lives are marked by godliness and obedience and yet who still seem plagued with a fear of losing salvation should be encouraged by listening to this broadcast as we hear how Christ will permit nothing and no one (not even ourselves) to snatch His sheep out of His hand.
Co-hosting this broadcast is Pastor Jim Capo of the Massapequa Church of God on Long Island, NY.
