DR. STEVEN TSOUKALAS, Assistant Professor of Apologetics and Christian Thought at Wesley Biblical Seminary in Jackson, Mississippi and the author of seven books and articles for popular and academic journals, will address the theme of his book: "THE NATION OF ISLAM: Understanding the Black Muslims".
The Nation of Islam promises African Americans a new identity and purpose. But can it deliver? In this intriguing study Dr. Steven Tsoukalas helps us understand the struggle, history, and theology behind black nationalism so that we may respond with compassion and truth.
Noted African-American historian and scholar Carl F. Ellis, Jr., said that Steven Tsoukalas's book "will prove to be indispensable as we fulfill the Great Commission among our African-American brothers and sisters. . . . Whether you reside in the ‘hood or the ‘burbs, whether you are African American, white, Hispanic, or ‘other,’ whether God has called you to home missions or foreign missions, you cannot afford to let Steve Tsoukalas’ magnificent work sit on the shelf. . . . A must read.”
Dr. Tsoukalas received his Ph.D. in Theology from the University of Birmingham [England], his Master of Divinity from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and his Master of Theology in Religions of the World from Harvard University Divinity School. He is also the Executive Director and Senior Research Consultant for Sound Doctrine Ministries. In addition to the book we are addressing today, he is the author of such notable works as "Masonic Rites and Wrongs" (Presbyterian and Reformed Publishing Co., 1995), "Knowing Christ in the Challenge of Heresy" (University Press of America, 1999), and "Christian Faith 101: The Basics and Beyond" (Judson Press, 2000).
