Tom Nettles, Professor of Historical Theology at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky (see www.sbts.edu), and author of "James Petigru Boyce: A Southern Baptist Statesmen", will address the theme: "Pastoral Training in the Third Millennium: What All Seminaries Can Learn From James Petigru Boyce (1827–1888)".

Dr. Nettles is a finalist for the John Pollock Award for his new biography of James Petigru Boyce, a 19th century Baptist hero of the Faith (the winner of the award to be announced this May). Dr. Nettles is a graduate of Mississippi College (BA) and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (MDiv and PhD). He previously taught at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary in Memphis, Tennessee and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois, where he was Professor of Church History and Chair of the Department of Church History. He has served on the faculty at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary since 1997.
