ERIC C. REDMOND: SOVEREIGN GRACE & THE BLACK CHURCH

.
MP3 Available Here

ERIC C. REDMOND, author, sought-after theologically Reformed conference speaker and founding pastor of Reformation Alive Baptist Church in Temple Hills, MD, a new church plant in the suburbs of Washington, DC, will address the theme: "SOVEREIGN GRACE & THE BLACK CHURCH".

Pastor Redmond served as the Second Vice-President of the
Southern Baptist Convention from 2007 to 2008, and has served as the Theology Editor for "NAAF Outlook: Newsletter of the African American Fellowship of the SBC". He has also served on the Trustee Board of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary . He is a gifted expository preacher and teacher of God's Word. A graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary , his passion is to see lives transformed by growing in love and understanding of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Pastor Redmond’s ministry emphasis lies in expositional preaching and teaching of the Scriptures, development of godly male leadership, and the cultivation of Biblical community within the local church. He has a burden to encourage academic theological studies at research levels among young African-American church leaders, and to see the rearing and sending of African-Americans into international missions work.

Pastor Redmond's book, "
Where Are All The Brothers?: Straight Answers to Men's Questions About the Church", is one of Pastor Redmond's attempts to help strong men give Christ a second look by addressing some of their modern day concerns. He also contributed to "Glory Road: The Journeys of 10 African-Americans into Reformed Christianity".

Currently, Pastor Redmond also serves as an Assistant Professor of Bible & Theology at
Washington Bible College in Lanham MD . He feels a burden to reach all generations for Christ, so that a generation yet unborn might be raised up to know and love God. On his blog, "A Man from Issachar", Pastor Redmond again attempts to point his readers to Christ through an examination of current events.

Pastor Redmond and his wife Pam will have been very happily married for 18 years this July. They have five children – Charis (17), Chloe (15), Candace (11), Calvin (9), and Codell (8) – and they reside in Lanham, Maryland. The heart of the Redmond’s ministry partnership is strengthening families.

A controversial and refreshingly honest article by Pastor Redmond that is highly recommended, "Living Soli Deo Gloria Under Obama",
may be read here.

Pastor Redmond was also one of eight featured speakers at a special event of the Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals: "
The Sovereignty of God Conference", held this past June in Haledon, New Jersey.

THABITI ANYABWILE: THE DECLINE OF AFRICAN AMERICAN THEOLOGY: From Biblical Faith to Cultural Captivity (Part Two)

.
MP3 Available Here

THABITI ANYABWILE, senior pastor of First Baptist Church of Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands, will address the theme of his very controversial book: "THE DECLINE OF AFRICAN AMERICAN THEOLOGY: From Biblical Faith to Cultural Captivity".

Who were Jupiter Hammon, Lemuel Haynes and Daniel Alexander Payne? And what do they have in common with Martin Luther King Jr., Howard Thurman and James Cone? All of these were African American Christian theologians, yet their theologies are, in many ways, worlds apart.

During today's interview, Thabiti Anyabwile offers a challenging and provocative assessment of the history of African American Christian theology, from its earliest beginnings to the present. He argues trenchantly that the modern fruit of African American theology has fallen far from the tree of its early predecessors. In doing so, Thabiti closely examines the theological commitments of prominent African American theologians throughout American history. In Thabiti's book, "The Decline of African American Theology", he traces, chapter by chapter, what he sees as the theological decline of African American theology from one generation to the next, concluding with an unflinching examination of several contemporary figures. Replete with primary texts and illustrations, this book is a gold mine for any reader interested in the history of African American Christianity.

Thabiti Anyabwile is a native of Lexington, North Carolina. He is the happy husband of Kristie and the adoring father of two daughters, Afiya and Eden, and son, Titus. He began serving as elder/senior pastor of First Baptist Church of Grand Cayman in August 2006. He served previously as an elder/assistant pastor at
Capitol Hill Baptist Church in Washington, DC, and as an elder at Church on the Rock in Raleigh, NC. Thabiti holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in psychology from North Carolina State University .

Thabiti is also the author of "What is a Healthy Church Member?" and "The Faithful Preacher: Recapturing the Vision of Three Pioneering African-American Pastors". He contributed chapters to "Glory Road: The Journeys of 10 African-Americans into Reformed Christianity" and "Proclaiming a Cross-centered Theology".

Thabiti was a featured speaker at
Ligonier Ministries National Conference in March, 2009, where he addressed the theme: "Cosmic Treason: Sin and the Holiness of God".

DR. STEVEN TSOUKALAS: "THE NATION OF ISLAM: Understanding the Black Muslims"

MP3 Available Here

DR. STEVEN TSOUKALAS, Assistant Professor of Apologetics and Christian Thought at Wesley Biblical Seminary in Jackson, Mississippi and the author of seven books and articles for popular and academic journals, will address the theme of his book: "THE NATION OF ISLAM: Understanding the Black Muslims".

The Nation of Islam promises African Americans a new identity and purpose. But can it deliver? In this intriguing study Dr. Steven Tsoukalas helps us understand the struggle, history, and theology behind black nationalism so that we may respond with compassion and truth.

Noted African-American historian and scholar Carl F. Ellis, Jr., said that Steven Tsoukalas's book "will prove to be indispensable as we fulfill the Great Commission among our African-American brothers and sisters. . . . Whether you reside in the ‘hood or the ‘burbs, whether you are African American, white, Hispanic, or ‘other,’ whether God has called you to home missions or foreign missions, you cannot afford to let Steve Tsoukalas’ magnificent work sit on the shelf. . . . A must read.”

Dr. Tsoukalas received his Ph.D. in Theology from the University of Birmingham [England], his Master of Divinity from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and his Master of Theology in Religions of the World from Harvard University Divinity School. He is also the Executive Director and Senior Research Consultant for Sound Doctrine Ministries. In addition to the book we are addressing today, he is the author of such notable works as "Masonic Rites and Wrongs" (Presbyterian and Reformed Publishing Co., 1995), "Knowing Christ in the Challenge of Heresy" (University Press of America, 1999), and "Christian Faith 101: The Basics and Beyond" (Judson Press, 2000).

JOHN E. COLEMAN: "KWANZAA: What's Up With That?: A Critical Examination From a Black Pastor's Perspective"

MP3 Available Here

JOHN E. COLEMAN, well known Los Angeles area African-American talk radio host and the Senior Pastor/Teacher of the Into The Word: The Biblical Alternative Ministries and of Anselm Bible Fellowship of Los Angeles (see http://www.johnecoleman.org/ ), will address the very timely and controversial theme: "KWANZAA: What's Up With That?: A Critical Examination From a Black Pastor's Perspective".

From December 26th through January 1st of each year, many celebrate the first "African-American holiday", now approximately 40 years old, called "Kwanzaa", which is a word derived from the Swahili phrase "matunda ya kwanza", meaning "first fruits". This holiday was created in 1966 by Ron Karenga (born Ronald McKinley Everett), an African-American scholar notorious for his history as a militant Black Nationalist, convicted felon and founder of "Organization Us" (a violent Black activist group that was a rival of the infamous "Black Panther Party"). In Karenga's own words, his goal was to "...give Blacks an alternative to the existing holiday and give Blacks an opportunity to celebrate themselves and history, rather than simply imitate the practice of the dominant society."

Our guest today, Pastor John E. Coleman, will voice his strong opposition to Blacks who profess to be Christian who celebrate and promote this so-called holiday. Pastor John believes that the dominance of feminism and a matriarchal authority in the Black Church at large are a significant catalyst for the spread of Kwanzaa, which he sees as an effort to eclipse the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to fan the flames of anti-white racism.

While Pastor Coleman admits he believes that nationwide it is probable only a tiny minority in the Black community actually celebrate Kwanzaa today, he nonetheless sees it as a growing threat that may result in far greater contamination of the Black Church, inner-city schools and the African-American households in our future.

Pastor Coleman, who professes to be strongly Calvinist in his theology, received a Masters of Arts Degree in Pastoral Ministry from Talbot Theological Seminary at Biola University (see http://www.talbot.edu/) in December of 1990. Today he continues to teach theology classes in the inner-city to students from all over the greater Los Angeles area. He has spoken at men's conferences as well as supervised marriage retreats in that he specializes in family counseling. He had the privilege of delivering lectures at the Master's College in Santa Clarita, CA (see http://www.masters.edu/), where world-renowned pastor, author and radio and television Bible teacher Dr. John MacArthur serves as president.

Pastor Coleman is dedicated to edifying the lives of those who live in the inner city, focusing primarily on South Central Los Angeles. He has been an avid teacher of Christian doctrine for the past twenty five years. He spent most of his time during those early years of his Christian experience attending colleges, universities, and seminary. He was married to Lucy, his wife of 34 years, and in July of 2001 Lucy went to be with the Lord. Together, they have raised Delia and Leslie, their two lovely daughters, who are both graduates of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

PASTOR CLENARD HOWARD CHILDRESS, JR: "ABORTION: A BLUEPRINT FOR BLACK GENOCIDE" (ENCORE PRESENTATION)

MP3 Available Here

PASTOR CLENARD HOWARD CHILDRESS, JR., Northeast Region President and Assistant to the National Director of Life Education And Resource Network (LEARN), will address the theme: "ABORTION: A BLUEPRINT FOR BLACK GENOCIDE."

During this interview, Pastor Childress will surprise many by exposing the racist roots of Planned Parenthood, the largest abortion provider in America. 78% of their clinics are in minority communities. Blacks make up 12% of the population, but 35% of the abortions in America. Blacks are the only minority in America that is on the decline in population.

Did you know that the founder of Planned Parenthood, Margaret Sanger, was a devout racist who created the Negro Project designed to sterilize unknowing black women and others she deemed as undesirables of society? In Sanger's own words:

"We should hire three or four colored ministers, preferably with social-service backgrounds, and with engaging personalities. The most successful educational approach to the Negro is through a religious appeal. We don't want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population, and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members." (Margaret Sanger's December 19, 1939 letter to Dr. Clarence Gamble, 255 Adams Street, Milton, Massachusetts)

"Always to me any aroused group was a good group, and therefore I accepted an invitation to talk to the women's branch of the Ku Klux Klan at Silver Lake, NJ...In the end, through simple illustrations I believed I had accomplished my purpose. A dozen invitations to speak to similar groups were proffered." (Margaret Sanger: An Autobiography, P.366-367 )

"Everywhere we see poverty and large families going hand in hand. Those least fit to carry on the race are increasing most rapidly. People who cannot support their own offspring are encouraged by Church and State to produce large families. Many of the children thus begotten are diseased or feeble-minded; many become criminals. The burden of supporting these unwanted types has to be borne by the healthy elements of the nation. Funds that should be used to raise the standard of our civilization are diverted to the maintenance of those who should never have been born." (Margaret Sanger: The Pivot of Civilization, P. 279).

DR. ROBERT J. CAMERON: "THE BLACK CHURCH: A CALL TO REFORMATION"

MP3 Available Here

DR. ROBERT J. CAMERON, pastor of Mount Carmel Church (OPC), Somerset, NJ, will address: "THE BLACK CHURCH: A CALL TO REFORMATION".

During this very controversial discussion, Dr. Cameron will demonstrate that the Black church at large is heavily permeated by matriarchal leadership, a social gospel and heretical theology, and will challenge his African-American brothers and sisters in Christ to reevaluate their current positions and to become transformed according to the Scriptures.

Dr. Cameron is author of The Last Pew on the Left: America's Lost Potential. The title of Dr. Cameron’s book reflects upon his experiences as an African-American growing up in the Roman Catholic Church in the South, where his family had to sit in the last pew on the left. That insured they were the last ones to receive the chalice of the Mass (after all the white parishioners had partaken). Since then Bob has experienced racism in the military, industry and even running his own trucking business.

After he was converted to Christ in the early 70s (at more than 40 years of age), he was surprised to find the same problem in just about every church—black or white. He sold his business and used the profits to finance his seminary education. After seminary he was the founding pastor of Mt. Carmel Church in Somerset, NJ, which is now and always has been integrated—first as a Reformed Episcopal and later as a Presbyterian fellowship. Dr. Cameron also sits on the Board of Greenville Theological Seminary, and is part of the faculty at the New York School of the Bible.
