JERRY MARCELLINO, pastor of Audubon Drive Bible Church in Laurel, Mississippi will address: "The Jerry Marcellino Testimony".

Our guest today is the son of the renowned music producer, also named Jerry Marcellino, who is probably most well known for his work with "The Jackson 5" and Michael Jackson's solo career.

Jerry Marcellino has been a full-time pastor since 1988 and has been the pastor of Audubon Drive Bible Church in Laurel, Mississippi, since 1993. He and his wife of 26 years, Dawn, are the blessed parents of seven children (Joshua [is a US Marine and a Belhaven College Junior], Elyse [is a 23 year old Belhaven College graduate and presently works on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC], Cassie [is a 20 year old Belhaven College Junior], Johnson [is an 18 year old Belhaven College Freshman], Jeremiah [is a 15 yr-old Laurel Christian High School Freshman], Josiah [is a 12 yr-old Homeschooler – 7th grade], and Joel [is a 9 yr-old Homeschooler – 4th grader]). Jerry is a graduate of the University of Hawaii - 1980 (B.A. in Communication) and Capital Bible Seminary in Lanham, Maryland - 1988 (M.Div.). He is the author of Rediscovering the Lost Treasure of Family Worship, Should Christians Have A Heart For Israel? - A Biblical Perspective, Should The Church Have A Heart For Israel? - A Historical Perspective and Should the Nations Have A Heart For Israel? - An Eternal Perspective. He has contributed many articles to such publications as: Reformation Today (UK), Reformation Africa South, Table Talk, Pulpit Helps, The Toronto Baptist Seminary - Gospel Witness and The Journal of Modern Ministry. Jerry has contributed chapters to the following books: Reforming Pastoral Ministry: The Christian Ministry in Post Modern Times (Crossway Books, 2001) and A Foundation For Life: A Study of Key Doctrines and Their Application (Joshua Press, 2002). He writes a regular column for two local newspapers: The Laurel Leader-Call and The Meridian-Star.

He is also a frequent speaker at Church Leadership, Family, Youth, and Christian School conferences throughout the United States and abroad. He has been the Director of Audubon Press and Christian Book Service since 1995, and is a co-founder of The Fellowship of Independent Reformed Evangelicals (FIRE) presently serving as a member of its National Executive Board. He has served for the past twelve years on the Laurel Christian School Board of Directors and is also on their part-time faculty (He served previously in the same capacity for three years at a Christian High School in the Baltimore, Maryland area, where he was also a pastor). In addition, Jerry serves on numerous other ministry-related boards located in both the US and abroad.

SANDRA TANNER, co-founder with her late husband Jerald of Utah Lighthouse Ministry , will address: "THE CHRISTIAN TESTIMONY of BRIGHAM YOUNG's GREAT-GREAT GRANDDAUGHTER".

As Sandra begins her testimony of conversion from Mormonism to Biblical Christianity:

"Since I was born and raised in the Mormon church, and am a great-great-grandchild of Brigham Young, I had very strong ties to the Mormon faith. I was about seventeen before I ever attended another church. As a teenager my life centered around the Mormon church. Because I was active and paying my tithing I thought I was in pretty good standing with God. I knew I sinned but I felt my activity in church would somehow outweigh what I did wrong. I believed (as the Mormons teach) that I was inherently good. I had no fear of God's judgment. Besides the things that were wrong in my own life, I began to have doubts about my church. Could it really be the only true church? Was polygamy really right? Why couldn't the Negro hold the priesthood? Was temple marriage really so important? Why were its rites kept such a secret? Did God actually command Mormons to wear special under-garments? I had many questions going through my mind..."

Today we will hear how Sandra learned the answers to those vital questions, and how she discovered the mercy and grace of the true Jesus Christ of the Bible. We will also be promoting a conference to be held May 29-30 in Draper, Utah, featuring Sandra Tanner and eleven other speakers, in an effort to equip Christians to engage the Mormon culture with "COMPASSIONATE BOLDNESS".

THABITI ANYABWILE, senior pastor of First Baptist Church of Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands, will address the theme "THE TESTIMONY OF A MUSLIM CONVERT TO CHRISTIANITY".

Thabiti Anyabwile is a native of Lexington, North Carolina. Today he will give his remarkable testimony of being converted to Islam while a nominal Christian, and then converting to true faith in Jesus Christ. He is the happy husband of Kristie and the adoring father of two daughters, Afiya and Eden, and son, Titus. He began serving as elder/senior pastor of First Baptist Church of Grand Cayman in August 2006. He served previously as an elder/assistant pastor at Capitol Hill Baptist Church in Washington, DC, and as an elder at Church on the Rock in Raleigh, NC. Thabiti holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in psychology from North Carolina State University .

Thabiti is also the author of the very controversial and provocative book "The Decline of African American Theology: From Biblical Faith to Cultural Captivity", "What is a Healthy Church Member?" and "The Faithful Preacher: Recapturing the Vision of Three Pioneering African-American Pastors". He contributed chapters to "Glory Road: The Journeys of 10 African-Americans into Reformed Christianity" and "Proclaiming a Cross-centered Theology".

Thabiti was a featured speaker at Ligonier Ministries National Conference in March, 2009, where he addressed the theme: "Cosmic Treason: Sin and the Holiness of God".

INTERNET PORN and PEDOPHILE PREDATORS are a rapidly growing threat to the purity, safety and very lives of our children in this country, even in Christian households. Thank God for Christians like Bobby Lloyd and organizations like Long Island Citizens for Community Values (LICCV).

Bobby Lloyd is an unsung hero who worked side-by-side with New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani in cleaning up the historic Time Square from the porn, prostitution and drug trafficking that so dominated the area that this wickedness became synonymous with the very identity of "Time Square" for many years until not long ago.

A native of Rockville Centre, Long Island, Bobby Lloyd has experienced first-hand what it is like to be in bondage to pornography and drugs. And as Executive Director of Long Island Citizens for Community Values, he helps others not only understand the damage pornography can do but also break its stranglehold on their lives.

While Mr. Lloyd currently works closely with law enforcement officials and politicians, he was once on the other side of the law. His role as one of the primary suppliers of heroin to Long Island and parts of New York city in the 70s and 80s landed him in prison several times and in 1976, he received a life sentence under Gov. Rockefeller’s drug law. It was during his stint in prison that Lloyd rekindled a friendship with current wife and partner Dianne, who shared with him her own experiences of breaking the stronghold of drugs. Lloyd’s behavior in prison earned him lifetime parole but after being released he quickly re-established his drug business, which continued for several more years. Finally, in 1984, he entered Brooklyn Teen Challenge, which helped him put his drug habit behind him and move into a new phase of life.

Lloyd helped pioneer Long Island’s first Teen Challenge program and has since reached thousands of young people with a motivation message about how one man can turn his life around. As a result of his work, Lloyd received a pardon from his lifetime parole.

Since 1994, Mr. Lloyd has served as Executive Director of LICCV, where he helps Long Islanders live better lives, free from the negative influences of pornography and the sexualized messages of the culture. LICCV also specifically helps parents to protect their children from the dangers of Internet porn and pedophile predators.

ALEC MILLEN: "FROM THE NFL FIELD TO THE MISSION FIELD: The Testimony of a former New York Jet & San Francisco 49er"

Alec Millen was raised in the Roman Catholic faith in Atlanta GA. He went to parochial elementary school and Marist (Society of Mary) High. Most of his energy up through high school was spent in the sports arena. He is the middle of three brothers, who all went on to play collegiate sports, so it was a pretty competitive family. The Millen brothers have two very committed and loving parents, who have given their all to see their sons and now their sons' families succeed in the direction they have chosen.

Alec went to the University of North Carolina after high school and started as an offensive lineman as a redshirt freshman, but transferred to the University of Georgia after two consecutive losing seasons at UNC. He had to sit out a season because of the transfer, but made a name for himself as a “brawler” on the practice field (he actually had a couple newspaper articles written about him during the 1990 season). He received lots of positive press, and he was slated to be a starter and team leader for his final two seasons at UGA. However, though he didn’t realize it, he was empty on the inside. He was still a regular attendee at the local Catholic church, but his religion only seemed to consist of one hour Sunday morning. He sought fulfillment in his life (though he wouldn’t have defined it that way at the time) through sports, parties, dating, friends, whatever.

At this time, unbeknownst to Alec, a teammate (Dan) began to pray for him. He was one of the few Christians on the team, and he was part of Campus Crusades athletic ministry, Athletes in Action. Dan was challenged by the team chaplain (an AIA staff member) to make a list of people that he thought were “least likely” to ever be saved, and then begin to pray for them. Alec was #1 on that list (though he only found that out years later)! Dan prayed for Alec for over a year without Alec knowing it. During that year, Dan witnessed to Alec about Jesus, but Alec rejected what he said. Dan continued to pray and live an authentic Christian life. Over the next months, more and more people began to talk to Alec about Jesus – something that was very foreign to him.

Finally, in May of 1991, Alec was asked to go to a mid-week church service (Baptist revival meeting, actually) and he heard a man share his testimony of the life he had in Christ. His story was so compelling, and Alec had never heard anyone talk about Jesus in such personal terms. Alec was broken – all his successes in sports, or in his relationships seemed so meaningless. His prayer that night was, “God, if I can know you like this man knows you, I will do anything.” He realized then that this is all that he had ever really wanted. God saved him that night, and began the long process of transforming him into the image of his Son.

Before Alec's senior season at UGA, he attended an AIA camp in Fort Collins, Colorado, and that week challenged him to bring Jesus into the violent sport of football. It wasn’t enough to pray before the game and then thank God after the game. Jesus wanted to be with him during every snap, every timeout. This perspective transformed his game as well as my practicing. He could no longer “dog it” or take a play off. Every moment was a witnessing opportunity. Every play was a chance to use his talent to glorify God. This is a perspective that has helped him in life since football too.

At the end of Alec's senior year, he was selected team captain, he believes largely in part due to his Christian testimony. He had only been around for three years, only played for two, but was chosen by his teammates for this position. He tried to share the love of Christ with them, and they saw that people’s rejection of him didn’t weaken his faith but deepened his resolve to love them and pray for them.

After that season, Alec was drafted in the 7th round by the New York Jets. This was a dream come true. He had wanted to play in the NFL since he was in 4th grade. He appreciated the chance. But, about 3 weeks after he was drafted, he was in church in Athens, Georgia, and he heard a missionary speak. What Alec remembers most from her talk was that “there are people in Africa that are dying and will spend eternity in hell, not because they have rejected the message of Jesus, but because no body has ever told them about Jesus.” Alec sat their astounded. This Jesus who had been transforming his life by His love, who had saved him from hell, wasn’t even known about in certain places. Alec sat there, and he knew that God was calling him to be a missionary. He left the church that day and decided to go and tell his parents that he wasn’t going to play in the NFL, but was going to be a missionary. This was a hard conversation, as you can imagine. But they knew that his mind was made up.

God released Alec to play in the NFL, but showed him that the plan for his life was the mission field. He likens it to Abraham’s sacrifice of that which was most precious to him. Once God saw where Abraham’s love and allegiance was, he stopped the sacrifice.

Alec went to play on the Jets, and was put on their developmental squad. That meant that he had his Sundays free, and that is how he found his church in New York, North Shore Baptist Church in Bayside, Queens. The pastor of that church, Ed Moore, had played football at the University of Georgia a decade before Alec had. So, he visited the church, and fell in love with the ministry there. It was there that Alec really learned doctrine, and grew in his love for the Lord.

Alec only spent one season with the Jets before he went to the San Francisco 49ers. After one offseason with them, he blew out his right shoulder and that ended his career.

Alec then went to seminary for three years, then he took a job back in New York City at North Shore Baptist. First as youth pastor and then as a church planter in Richmond Hill (near Brooklyn). All the while, the elders of the church knew that he felt “called” to missions, and so after 3 ½ years, they laid hands on him and his wife Tammy and and sent them out as their missionaries.

Alec and Tammy served for 7 years with Wycliffe Bible Translators , helping to get the Scriptures into the languages of southern Sudan from 2004-2006. It is their passion to see that everyone has an opportunity to hear the Word of God in their heart language.

In June, Alec and Tammy joined another mission, Missionary Ventures International , because they sensed that God was leading them to work more in evangelism and church planting, alongside a Bible translation project. They are planning to move to Tanzania and work among an unreached people group in that country. Their approach will be through Chronological Bible Storying and through community development. Their hope is that as people come to faith in Jesus, and that they will begin to desire to read God’s Word in their own language – all the while the translation is going on so that they have the Scriptures available. According to Alec, literacy is still a great need. Please pray for the Millens as they faithfully labor for the furtherance of the Kingdom of Christ.

JOHN LEUZARDER: "GOD SENT A BLIZZARD TO MELT COLD HEARTS"

JOHN LEUZARDER, a survivor of cancer and author of "The Gospel For Children", will give his and his wife Sue's personal testimony of being saved by the grace of a loving, merciful and sovereign Christ: "GOD SENT A BLIZZARD TO MELT COLD HEARTS".


In 1976 John Leuzarder was laid off from his job where he worked and traveled extensively in a sales engineering position for over a 10-year period. Seeing an opportunity, he partnered with another salesman to form Advanced Environmental Technology Corp. (AETC) to deal with the emerging environmental problems associated with improperly managed hazardous chemicals and waste. Their company grew through a diversity of services including training, safety audits, packaging services, trucking, BTU recovery from waste solvents, acid neutralization, and chemical emergency response. In time they became nationally recognized for their expertise in the transport and on-site detonation of explosive and other dangerous highly reactive chemicals. AETC developed an array of remote control robotic devices for this purpose, the likeness of which are used by our military today. With wide acceptance from the emerging regulatory authorities AETC grew rapidly. – An average of 160% per year for the first 12 years. AETC reached $40 million in annual sales by 1987. Profitability during these years grew to 21% before taxes.

As AETC sales continued to grow, John Leuzarder and his business partner were able to diversify into a highly specialized trucking company, an insurance business (initially formed to capture commissions on their huge insurance premiums), real estate holdings to regionalize their growth into key market areas, and to satisfy John's partner’s personal interest, a jewelry business in Morristown.

All of John's dreams were becoming realities! He sat on a very prestigious committee of the American Chemical Society in Washington DC with 11 of the top research chemists in the US (MIT, Dupont etc.). He and his partner lectured in major universities across America, and developed a course on Chemical Compatibility and Safety for J.T. Baker Chemical Co. which John had the privilege of teaching in 26 states.

On the outside John appeared to be realizing the “Great American Dream”, but on the inside he was growing in anxiety, emptiness and even a sense of fear and despair. He found none of the peace and happiness that he expected, despite all he had accomplished. A temporary sense of happiness came only with the next big contract, exciting vacation, new car or learning to fly. Soon after acquiring these things, “the fix” was gone.

Although John didn’t realize it at the time, God was showing him that some of the things he had been taught as a child were not true, and that happiness and peace don’t come through hard work, acquiring goods, social prestige, or even reaching personal goals. Later as a 43 year old businessman at the top of his game, John grew more and more distressed by the emptiness of his life, the promise of happiness eluded him, and even more frightening was that now there seemed to be no way to get off the treadmill that he was on. He had become a slave to his businesses and possessions.

Despite wealth and prestige the burden on John's conscience was getting worse-not better. His marriage to his wife Sue was faltering and all hope of peace and happiness was slipping away. He tried his best to deny spiritual things, but he couldn’t shake off the idea from his Catholic upbringing, that hell loomed ahead of him. He had a terrible time facing the prospect of his eventual death.

Then in Dec 1986 John and Sue Leuzarder's lives were changed forever. Employees who had been praying for them presented them with Bibles- their first! A couple of weeks later at their annual New Years Eve party, 2 dear friends we’re providentially snowed in with John and Sue, and in the early morning hours began to talk to them about spiritual things. Listen to today's interview and discover how this blizzard was an instrument in the hand of a Sovereign God to lead John and Sue Leuzarder to a repentant faith in Jesus Christ.

Retiring on the proceeds of the sale of his businesses, John and his wife Sue were able to be involved in a number of faith based pro-life and pro-family organizations including Focus on the Family , The Family Research Council , Northwest Christian School , The Alliance Defense Fund and Today’s Choice Pregnancy Center. The Leuzarders also build interior and outdoor furniture and signs and serve on the Board of Camp of the Woods, in Speculator, NY which is now in its 107 year of Christian Ministry. John has also had the privilege of writing a book entitled “The Gospel for Children”, now in its 4 printing and 3 languages.
