JEFF COLON:FROM SLAVE TO SEX TO SERVANT OF CHRIST

.
MP3 Available Here

JEFF COLON, the Executive Director of Pure Life Ministries , will address the theme: "FROM SLAVE TO SEX TO SERVANT OF CHRIST".

Jeff earned his Masters in Biblical Counseling from
Master’s International School of Divinity and is credentialed with the Assemblies of God. He is also a certified biblical counselor through the International Association of Biblical Counselors (IABC) and serves on the IABC Board of Directors.

Jeff came to Pure Life Ministries from Long Island, NY in January 1994. It was a last-ditch effort for freedom from a life of debauchery and sexual sin. An ultimatum from his wife and his pastor drove him here but it was Jeff’s plan to simply get the sin out of his life and then to go back to a “normal” life in New York. However, Jeff got more than he bargained for at Pure Life. God came to him in a powerful way. Today Jeff is a completely transformed man
.

Jeff is the former director of the Pure Life Ministries Live-In Program, making him a popular presenter for the ministry’s Men of Purity Weekends. Men are consistently impacted by Jeff’s sincerity and passion in leading them to repentance and a life-changing encounter with God. In addition to his ongoing role as campus pastor for the PLM Live-In Program, Jeff and his wife Rose frequently minister to couples and young adults, speak regularly at the annual IABC conference, and minister in various speaking venues, both across the USA as well as internationally.

Jeff is the author of "
From Ashes to Beauty: Spiritual Truths for Rebuilding & Revitalizing Your Marriage".

Co-hosting today's broadcast are two very dear friends of Jeff's, Pastor Jimmy Jack of Freedom Chapel in Amityville, NY and Founder and President of Long Island Teen Challenge and Bobby Lloyd, Executive Director of Long Island Citizens For Community Values .

STEVE CAMP: WORLDLY CHRISTIANS: Being Salt & Light in a Pagan Society

.
MP3 Available Here

STEVE CAMP, well known Christian recording artist, writer of a Grammy Award-winning song, theologically Reformed Christian apologist and founder of audienceONE Ministries will address the theme: "WORLDLY CHRISTIANS: Being Salt & Light in a Pagan Society".

We Christians have an extremely difficult task ahead of us: to be IN the world but not OF the world. To be FRIENDS with sinners and yet SEPARATE from sinners. Today our guest Steve Camp will address our duty to be salt and light in a pagan society using Titus 3:1-8 as our guide:

1) Remind them to be subject to rulers, to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good deed,

2) to malign no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing every consideration for all men.

3) For we also once were foolish ourselves, disobedient, deceived, enslaved to various lusts and pleasures, spending our life in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another.

4) But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared,

5) He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,

6) whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior,

7) so that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

8) This is a trustworthy statement; and concerning these things I want you to speak confidently, so that those who have believed God will be careful to engage in good deeds. These things are good and profitable for men.

DR. ROBERT SPINNEY: "ARE YOU LEGALISTIC?: An Examination of Grace, Obedience & Antinomianism"

MP3 Available Here

DR. ROBERT SPINNEY, Assistant Professor of History & Director of Distance Learning at Patrick Henry College in Purcellville, VA, will address the theme: "ARE YOU LEGALISTIC?: An Examination of Grace, Obedience & Antinomianism."

Everyone knows that legalism is bad. But what exactly is legalism? Is it legalistic to obey God's laws? Is it legalistic when we obey God too much or too carefully? On the narrow road that leads to eternal life, legalism is the ditch on one side of the road. The ditch on the other side is antinomianism. Determined to avoid misusing God's laws and becoming legalistic, some neglect God's laws altogether and become antinomian. Legalism is bad, but antinomianism is equally bad. Understanding legalism requires that we understand antinomianism, and this interview should help to explain both concepts.

Dr. Robert Spinney was raised a Roman Catholic, but the Lord Jesus Christ saved him by grace through faith alone during his college years. He was introduced to Bible-centered Christianity through Campus Crusade for Christ. Over the years, however, he moved in a theologically Reformed direction. He currently describes himself as a Reformed Baptist who subscribes fully to the 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith.

Dr. Robert Spinney has also taught at Trinity International University, Deerfield, IL, Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN, and Volunteer State Community College, Gallatin, TN. He has published two academic history books: a comprehensive history of Chicago and a history of Nashville during World War II.

In addition to teaching Dr. Spinney ministered as a pastor for six years at Grace Baptist Church in Hartsville, TN, until 2007, a congregation which belongs to ARBCA: the Association of Reformed Baptist Churches of America . While pastoring at GBC, the church commissioned him to write numerous ministry-related booklets, among them "Are You Legalistic?: Grace, Obedience & Antinomianism", "Did God Create Sports Also?: Thinking Christianly About Sports", "Peeking Into the Devil’s Playbook: Satan’s Strategies for Tempting Christians to Sin", and "Why Do Bad Things Happen to Good People?: Thinking Biblically About the Problem of Sin in Our World" (see a complete list at http://www.tulipbooks.com/). You can currently order these booklets at Cumberland Valley Bible Book Service .

"Lion Slayer: Using the Right Truth to Slay the Enemy" (see http://www.emeraldhouse.com/) deletes that anguished cry from the lips of God’s people. God desires His people to grow spiritually strong and to triumph over temptation. Yet sinful habits overwhelm multitudes of believers, who cherish little hope for deliverance. This book provides welcomed relief. Prayerful readers will learn to:

Break the habits of ensnaring sins, and achieve a triumphant life style.
Recognize why we sometimes keep on disobeying God.
Discover the right truth that makes us free.
Believe the right truth that delivers from bondage.
Pray the right truth that rescues us from overwhelming temptations.
Walk in the Holy Spirit and not fulfill the lusts of the flesh.

“You may have looked for a book that helps you grow and overcome sin and Satan. Well, here it is! This volume, put to good use, will guide you scripturally to overcome evil. Get it for yourself, and give copies to your friends.” —Dr. Jay E. Adams, Author, Pastor, Seminary Professor

As a pastor and counselor, Kenneth Mick has successfully taught the truth of Lion Slayer for over 40 years. For 6 years he wrote "Green Pastures", a weekly devotional in the "Juniata Sentinel" newspaper in central PA. Pastor Ken received his B.A. in B.Ed. from Columbia International University (see http://www.ciu.edu/) and his M.Div. from Reformed Episcopal Seminary (see http://www.reseminary.edu/). JOHN DAVIS: "IN THE WORLD, NOT OF THE WORLD"

MP3 Available Here

JOHN DAVIS, pastor of Amityville Community Church, an independent, nondenominational fellowship affirming the Doctrines of the Sovereign Grace of God located in Amityville, Long Island, NY, will address the theme: "IN THE WORLD, NOT OF THE WORLD".

It is quite obvious that our world today is wicked and sinful, just as it was in the day when the Apostle Paul wrote: "Do all things without grumbling or disputing; so that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation..." (Philippians 2: 14-15a). We as Christians are faced with the dilemma that this is the world we live in. We are not to retreat from it and live a monastic life isolated from all but those who share our faith. As long as we live on this earth we must remain in the midst of godless sinners, as Paul continues: "...among whom you appear as lights in the world, holding fast the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I will have reason to glory because I did not run in vain nor toil in vain" (Philippians 2: 15b-16). Yet, while we are "in" the world, we must simultaneously *not* be "of" the world. As our Lord put it during His High Priestly Prayer to His Father: "I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world" (John 17:14).

During this broadcast, Pastor Davis will seek to guide Christians as we carefully walk the "tightrope" of being in the world but not of the world, prayerfully seeking to maintain balance by befriending sinners while not imitating them. In addition to his pastoral duties at Amityville Community Church, Pastor Davis is a teacher in New York City's public school system.

RICHARD JENSEN: "THE CHRISTIAN'S SECRET WEAPON: OVERCOMING EVIL WITH GOOD"

MP3 Available Here

RICHARD JENSEN, pastor of Hope Reformed Baptist Church, Medford, Long Island, NY and headmaster of Grace Christian Academy, Merrick, Long Island, NY, a ministry of Grace Reformed Baptist Church in Merrick, Long Island, NY, will address the theme: "THE CHRISTIAN'S SECRET WEAPON: OVERCOMING EVIL WITH GOOD". He will focus on Romans 12:14-21 as the basis for his theme:

"Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. Be of the same mind toward one another; do not be haughty in mind, but associate with the lowly. Do not be wise in your own estimation. Never pay back evil for evil to anyone. Respect what is right in the sight of all men. If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men. Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, 'VENGEANCE IS MINE, I WILL REPAY,' says the Lord. 'BUT IF YOUR ENEMY IS HUNGRY, FEED HIM, AND IF HE IS THIRSTY, GIVE HIM A DRINK; FOR IN SO DOING YOU WILL HEAP BURNING COALS ON HIS HEAD.' Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good."

Pastor Jensen has also been a home school convention speaker and is the youngest individual appointed to the position of Homicide Detective in the history of Suffolk County, NY, prior to his retirement from the police department and to his full-time dedication to the pastorate and to Christian education.
