"TurretinFan" (a pseudonym used in order to separate his secular career from his apologetics ministry), a contributor to Dr. James R. White's blog on the Alpha & Omega Ministries web site (http://www.aomin.org/), will address: "Formal Sufficiency of scripture: Stated & Examined From scripture & the Fathers, with Scholarly Confirmation Regarding the Fathers' Views".

Roman Catholics these days like to try to claim that the Bible has all the information needed for salvation, but this information is placed in there in such a way that the Bible requires tradition or a living magisterium to be properly understood. Patristic scholar Pastor David King and our guest have been responding to this contention in a series of posts at http://turretinfan.blogspot.com/.

The first post deals with explaining what the Reformed churches actually believe. The second post proves the Reformed doctrines fromsc-ripture. There is a brief aside talking about a sort of "partim-partim" sufficiency that's not popular among Roman Catholics today, though it was more popular previously. Then the third post starts to get into the patristic evidence, really focusing on the earliest Christian writings that address the subject. We will discuss these posts during tonight's broadcast.
