I'm a Reformed Baptist (not a Federal Visionist), but I recognize that Steve Camp got Federal Vision in general, and Wilson in particular, badly wrong (and even emphasized the error he was making repeatedly).

He explained at the beginning of the topic that Wilson believes that election is conditional and temporary. This is directly opposite to everything Wilson has written and said.

What Wilson does believe, and what is controversial, is that being a member of the New Covenant is conditional and (possibly) temporary. In a nutshell, he believes that partaking in baptism and communion seal one to the New Covenant, but because those things do not regenerate your heart, they do not save you, and because the obligations implied by membership in the New Covenant are so much more serious than those implied by membership in the Old, they can make your condition much worse.

And yes, Camp is right in most of what he says about their covenantal views, and that's the real reason for the controversy.

He's simply wrong about election; Wilson writes, preaches, and declares that election is unconditional and God's work alone, and that God's regeneration (of our dead hearts) is required for salvation.
